Beta club constitution
Official Charter Consisting of This Chapter’s constitution and bylaws
Constitution Article One: Name.
The name of this organization shall be the Keystone Academy Chapter of The National Beta Club.
Article Two: Affiliation and Co-ordination
This chapter of The National Beta Club is an integral part of the central organization of The National Beta Club, and shall be governed by the academic and financial policies laid down in the national constitution of the central organization of The National Beta Club. Its coat-of-arms, motto, colors, creed, and official insignia shall be those of the national organization of The National Beta Club.
Article Three: Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be the promotion of scholarship, leadership, and good citizenship at Keystone Academy.
Article Four: Membership
The membership of this organization shall be made up from among the students of the 9th through 12th grades of Keystone Academy who, because of their worthy character, good mentality, creditable achievement, and commendable attitude, have been approved for membership in this chapter of The National Beta Club; provided, of course, that these students meet the requirements as set forth in the by-laws of this organization as appended herein below.
Article Five: Officers
1. The officers of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be: a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer.
2. The duties of the President shall be: to preside at the meetings; to appoint the committees of the chapter (unless otherwise provided for in the by-laws); to represent this organization when necessary; and to administer the policies as laid down in this constitution and its by-laws.
3. The duties of the Vice-President shall be: to preside at meetings when the president is absent or incapacitated to perform the duties of the office; and to assist in administering the affairs of chapter—serving on such committees as are designated in the by-laws.
4. The duties of the Secretary shall be: to keep the records of membership; to record the minutes of the meetings; and to carry on the necessary club correspondence.
5. The duties of the Treasurer shall be: to keep a record of all financial matters pertaining to this organization; to collect and preserve the club's funds; to payout of the club's funds the necessary and designated moneys to meet the financial obligations of the club; and to pass on to the treasurer succeeding him all records and funds remaining in the treasury.
Article Six: Committees
1. The committees of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be:

B. Entertainment
C. Phone
2. The duties of the Executive committee shall be; to assist the officers in carrying out the policies and activities of this organization; to direct any necessary disciplinary action (such as dropping a member from membership or placing him/her on probation); to cooperate with the club sponsor in all matters pertaining to the general welfare of me club.
3. The duty of the Entertainment committee shall be: to look after the entertainment features of the social meetings of the c1ub—such as decorations, refreshments, and special features of entertainment.
4. The duties of the Phone committee shall be: to assist the officers and members of the club in making necessary phone calls; to give oral invitations to club events.
5. In addition to these 3 standing committees, the president may appoint special committees to attend to and report upon any specific matter that may become necessary for this club to consider.
Article Seven: Meetings
1. Regular meetings shall be held at such times and places as shall be designated in the by-laws.
2. Special meetings may be called by the President after consultation with, and the approval of, the Executive committee and the faculty sponsor of the club.
3. The public may be invited to attend any regular or special meeting of this organization if approved by a majority vote at any previous meeting with a quorum present.
Article Eight: Services
Besides endeavoring at all times to be of service to Keystone Academy and its students by upholding high standards of honesty and good citizenship, this chapter of The National Beta Club shall—after consultation with and upon the approval of the executive head of the school—undertake some worthwhile service project, as designated in the by-laws appended herein below.Article Nine: Amending the ConstitutionThe Constitution of this organization may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the membership at any meeting where a quorum is present; provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given at a previous meeting.

Beta Club Bilaws
By-laws of the Keystone Academy Chapter of The National Beta Club
Article I: Time and Place of Meetings
1. The time and place of meetings or this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be decided upon only after consultation of, and upon approval of, the sponsor of this organization.
2. The time of the meetings of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be 3:00 PM-5:00 PM.
3. The place of the meetings of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be as specified by the officers of this organization.
Article II: Quorum
A quorum of this organization shall be constituted of 2/3 of the membership. No action may be taken which is binding upon the membership unless a quorum is present. However, certain matters—such as, a discussion of means of taking in new members, the presentation of a program, etc. —may be carried on at a regular or special meeting without a quorum being present.
Article III: Standards of Membership
1. Standards of membership in the Keystone Academy Chapter of The National Beta Club must conform to the general features as laid down in the national Constitution; in all cases it must be approved by the executive head of the high school.
2. The scholastic requirements for membership in this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be a B grade average.
Article IV: Induction of Members
The induction of new members into the membership of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be one of dignity, appropriate to the ideals of the organization. Any induction ceremony must not be of a nature to cause physical pain or mental embarrassment to the initiate. This chapter, unless modified in the By-Laws, will not allow any pre-induction initiation activities.
Article V: Loss of Membership
1. A member of this chapter of The National Beta Club may be dropped from membership if he\she is absent without a justifiable reason from three regular consecutive meetings.
2. A member of this chapter of The National Beta Club may be dropped from membership if his\her scholastic record falls bellow a B grade average.
3. However, no member may be dropped from membership for scholastic deficiency without being accorded a probationary period of one semester to raise his\her scholastic record above the minimum required for membership.
4. The executive head of Keystone Academy may drop a member from membership for moral or disciplinary reasons that are deemed by him to be sufficient.
5. A student so dropped from membership may be reinstated provided he\she meets the requirements laid down in the Constitution and By-Laws of this chapter of The National Beta Club.
6. If a member who has been dropped is later reinstated, he will not be required to pay the national certificate fee again.
7. A member may be dropped from membership if he she fails to pay the club dues for a consecutive period of 5 months without a adequate reason.
8. If and when a member is dropped from membership, a record of this action shall be relayed to the national office of The National Beta Club immediately.
Article VI: Service Project
As soon as possible after its activation in the fall semester of the school year, this chapter of The National Beta Club will undertake a program of service which will be of benefit to Keystone Academy. This project shall be decided upon only after consultation with, and upon approval of, the executive head of the high school.
Article VII: Local Dues and Assessments
1. The local dues of The National Beta Club shall be $2.00 a month, adding up to $20.00 a year. Assessments may be made upon the membership to defray the costs of special undertakings.
2. All members must, once made available, buy a Keystone Academy chapter Beta Club T-shirt for use at all club events, meetings, and service projects.
Article VIII: Amending the By-laws
The By-Laws of this chapter of The National Beta Club may be amended by a majority vote of the membership, provided such proposed amendment is placed before the club at a previous meeting
